Atomlib has been added to WordPress relatively recently. The library was created by the great Sam Ruby, who exerted an impact on creation of Atom-feed specification and the Atom Publishing Protocol. Atomlib allows you to use all capabilities of Atom (Atom Publishing Protocol and Atom-feeds v1.0) within WordPress. Atomlib is a self-contained library, so its potential can be easily used at development of new functions and plugins: you just need to add several code lines.
